Let’s jump right into it, Let me just say that your skin is flawless girl! What is your secret? Tell us!!!!!
First tip is to wash your face nightly! No matter how tired you are or if you didn’t wear make-up that day, you need to clean your face from sweat, pollutants and make- up daily. Start small. Get a three step system that works for your life. If you know that you can’t commit to a twice a day routine, then don’t do it. My three step system change depending on the day or the amount of time I have. It starts with a cleanser, and then either an oil, spot treatment, or mask lastly a moisturizer.
Now, we know that you are a natural, organic -based product user! What are some benefits of using or going organic?
I try to use natural products whenever possible. I’m still transitioning from the make-up I already own to clean beauty. It takes research and sometimes coins! The benefits are that you know what’s going on your skin and eventually in your body. People forget that everything we put on your skin and hair gets absorbed into our bodies. America isn’t going to protect us from cancer causing ingredients so it’s up to us as the consumer to educate ourselves and buy healthy products.
Can you share three top products you can’t start your morning routine without?
Jane Iredale hydration spray, I use it in the morning after washing my face and before leaving for the gym. Goop primer and sunscreen Chap stick! I’m really into Moroccan magic’s organic lip balm
Thanks for all those pointers, I’ll make sure to get me some of those asap. Now in regards to mental self-care, do you have any readings or blogs you read daily or weekly to feed your mind and soul?
I fill my feed with positive, uplifting, and motivating people so I usually get inspired by scrolling through my feed and seeing the creativity and stories of other women. Give us your top 3 most inspiring, empowering , influential women ? Alex Elle, Morgan Harper Nichols, and Anisha Amat. I am always moved by their words and they inspire me to share my words in hopes that I can move someone else.
Authenticity is something that we all struggle in the daily basis to be. I can say that even for myself has been a struggle to fully tap into at times. Just really being bold and being authentic, can seem far fetch or scary at times. Obviously the word Authentic, is a part of your name brand if I can call it that, What is the story behind using “ Dani-Authentic ”?
I wanted my Instagram name to be a daily reminder of why I post what I post and why I started this journey in the first place. I strive to be authentic, to connect to others in a real relatable way. To be more than pretty pictures and that is what I want to be known for. I also want to be real and honest with myself. So pretty much the name serves as a reminder to my “why”
What can you share with us to fully dive into being our more authentic selves in this busy and standardized society full of expectations in terms of who women should be?
Women are givers, we are conditioned by generational behaviors to believe that we are just here to give to other people. We give our all to our parents, our partners, and then to our kids. But if we continue to give fully what is left over for us?We find ourselves lost within other people, being people pleasers without the ability to say no, or express our true feelings. Personally, I believe authenticity starts with self-awareness. To observe your behaviors, your emotions and your reactions to yourself, people and situations. From there you build yourself up by practicing self-care and self-love. I call this self-work. You do this self- work because you know are you worthy and deserving of love and kindness. It’s work, especially for women who have a hard time claiming their worth. It’s not face mask and shopping trips. It’s boundaries with yourself and others, it’s checking yourself when you’re the one getting in your own way, letting go of people who cannot come with you on this journey. It’s forgiving yourself and loving yourself unconditionally.
What advice would you give our readers to help them tap into a self care and self love lifestyle?
Besides reading by blog posts and captions? ( haha) I say have a conversation with yourself. Figure out what you want and what you’re afraid of. Then dedicate each day to committing an act of self-love and self-care. For example, if you find yourself sad and discouraged about your recent weight gain. Identify how you got to got there (self- awareness) Give yourself compassion and forgiveness then move forward (self-love) and commit each day to feeding your body nutrient rich foods, drinking lots of water, and moving your body because you love your body and want what’s best for it. It becomes less about the number on the scale and more about how your body deserves to be treated (self-care)
